To My Husband on Father’s Day

The First Daddy Dance - January 16, 2002

Crepes for breakfast isn’t nearly enough to tell you how great a father you are to our son. You are patient and kind and gentle – but never a pushover. You open his mind and get him excited about learning –  a gift that will serve him his whole life and have a positive impact on our grandchildren and great-grandchildren. You teach, and coach and mentor him and he is amazing. I see the change in his attitude, his manners and his approach to life. He is only eight, but he has the confidence to strike up conversations with adults and children of all ages. His understanding of the world and people and relationships is marvelous. He has a sense of comedic timing and a desire to make people laugh. From that first “daddy dance” you have been his, heart and soul. He is so lucky to have you in his life and to be the focus of so much of your time and energy. We both are.

Happy Father’s Day to my soul mate, my love, my husband, my partner, my fellow chef.
